In the hot summer of 1967, a charming city boy from the barrios of Santo Domingo, fell in love with a shy but spunky country girl from the campos of Santiago. Those two lovebirds are my abuelos. 

Today, after 50 years of marriage, one thing my abuelos will tell you is that marriage is filled with ups and downs, but their love for one another never faded. Their journey has been filled with many tears, many changes, but also many inside jokes and celebrations. Their love is an inspiration to me.

Every story I tell through photography is for them. It's to honor their love story, and to celebrate the covenant of marriage. A love story that's become a work of art in the the tapestry of life. A life that's lead to two children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
